Now in its third year, Curious Figure has grown from a regional exhibition into a national platform, bringing together artists from 38 cities across 21 states. The exhibition highlights the enduring power of the human figure as a subject through a wide range of perspectives, techniques, and narratives. Hosted at the historic Star Store in downtown New Bedford, the opening reception invites the public to experience the work of this year’s artists while connecting with the region’s vibrant creative community. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet participating artists, explore the exhibition, and enjoy the lively cultural energy that continues to shape New Bedford’s growing reputation as a destination for the arts. Experience Curious Figure 3 during New Bedford’s AHA! Night, featuring a special awards ceremony celebrating this year’s exhibiting artists. Curious Figure 3 – AHA! Night Reception & Artist Awards Experience Curious Figure 3 during New Bedford’s AHA! Night, a citywide celebration of arts and culture where galleries, studios, and creative organizations open their doors for an evening of public programming across downtown. This special reception invites visitors to explore the national juried exhibition of contemporary figurative artists while participating in the vibrant atmosphere that makes AHA! Night a cornerstone of New Bedford’s creative community. During the evening, Curious Figure 3 will also host its Artist Awards Ceremony, recognizing selected works from this year’s exhibition cohort. The awards celebrate outstanding artistic achievement among the artists representing 38 cities across 21 states, highlighting the strength and diversity of contemporary figurative practice.
