Mishoon Burn at Community Boating Center

Mishoon Burn at Community Boating Center

The Community Boating Center (CBC) presents a program celebrating Indigenous culture, history, and community. Come and learn from local Indigenous artists Hartman Deetz and Annawon Weeden as they make a mishoon (dugout canoe) at the CBC. The process uses fire to hollow out a pine log over the course of 7-10 days.
Come to join in, hear stories and histories, and see, touch and smell for yourself a process that takes you back in time. Food demonstrations will also be offered at specific dates and times. Follow @cbcnb for updates.

Public programming offered:
October 21: 4-6PM
October 22: 4-6 PM
