DESCRIPTION:Stop by the Fishing Heritage Center to discover our newest exhibit\, In History’s Wake\, which explores the complicated history and legacy of the 1976 Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act (MSA). The Act established the 200-mile limit and laid the groundwork for much of the governance and oversight that manages the commercial fishing industry today. An important piece of legislation\, MSA continues to provoke strong reactions on New Bedford’s waterfront.
