re-emergence. Art & Design of Gayle Wells Mandle

Kettle Black Gallery is pleased to announce the solo exhibition re-emergence, showcasing the art and design of Gayle Wells Mandle, running June 12 – August 30, 2025, in downtown New Bedford at 1 Johnny Cake Hill.
Mandle’s work features socio-political themes expressed through abstract compositions that juxtapose reality with imagination. The exhibition will showcase her distinctive artistic approach, reflecting her profound connection to color, form, and emotional expression through mixed media paintings, interior design vignettes, and sculptural glass. Mandle has exhibited domestically and internationally throughout her career. She studied painting during the height of Abstract Expressionism in the 1960s and later earned an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design.
The exhibit is free and open to the public during gallery hours and special events. It is also available for private viewings by contacting the curator at 508-951-2335.
