    In collaboration with Infinity Productions, we welcome you to Open Mic at First Unitarian Church in New Bedford! Free entry but donations are always appreciated. Sign-Ups are first-come-first-served. Doors open at 3:30 PM and the Open Mic begins at 4:00 PM - please use the parking lot door on 8th Street. No pre-registration required. Starting in February, Open Mic Night will take place every first Sunday in the Maja Capek Room through June and will pick back up in September.

    Experience the joy of singing with GNBCS–everyone is welcome–no auditions necessary! Attend an open rehearsal to find out what it’s like to sing with us on Tuesday, January 6, 13, and 20th at 6:30 pm. GNBCS is a non-audition SATB choir under the new musical direction of Brian Dean Sousa. Open rehearsals on January 6, 13, and 20th allow potential members to experience singing with GNBCS and decide if they wish to continue. We rehearse Tuesday nights from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at First Unitarian Church in New Bedford. Our spring concert is planned for Sunday, May 3rd at 3:30 pm, and will be a celebration of America in honor of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The program will include classical selections such as Randall Thompson’s Frostiana and Aaron Copland’s Simple Gifts, favorite spirituals and Americana songs such as Down in the River and Camptown Races, and a few sing-alongs! This spring, we are excited to introduce our new musical director, Brian Dean Sousa.
