The 11th Island Through Your Lens: A Community Photography Workshop

The 11th Island Through Your Lens: A Community Photography Workshop

Join us for a community photography workshop centered on the concept of New England as the “11th Island” of the Cabo Verdean archipelago! The workshop will take place between 2 and 5 pm on July 25th, in affiliation with the Cape Verdean Association in New Bedford’s festival, and will be led by local Cabo Verdean photographers Ron Barboza and Leia Onofrey.

We invite you to drop in between 2 and 5 and share selections from your home photography collections — personal photos as well as family photos — that speak to the question: “What does being in the ’11th Island’ mean to you?”

This event is free and open to the public. Venue: Community Action for Better Housing Conference Room, 1162 Acushnet Avenue, New Bedford, MA

“The 11th Island Through Your Lens: A Community Photography Workshop” is supported by the New England Foundation for the Arts’ Public Art for Spatial Justice program, with funding from the Barr Foundation and the Fund for the Arts at NEFA.
