Downtown New Bedford

Each year, the City of New Bedford lights two holiday trees, one in downtown New Bedford in front of the Free Public Library and one in Clasky Common Park. The New Bedford High School marching band and Miss New Bedford perform at each tree lighting and hot cocoa is served. The downtown tree is lit following a short parade starting in front of the Whaling Museum and up William Street to gather on Pleasant Street in front of the library. Stay tuned for more information on special programming and appearances. We hear the Grinch will be visiting family in New Bedford that weekend!
