This AHA! Night celebrates New Bedford's stories through art, music, spoken word, and more, with a special focus on women's stories in recognition of Women's History Month. The stories continue with part two of our I AM NB storytelling series. This AHA! Night celebrates the personal and undertold stories of New Bedford as expressed through art, music, spoken word, and more, with a special focus on the stories of women in recognition of Women's History Month. The AHA! open mic returns at the Z's Speakeasy, with the Jazz Jam duo of Blair Taylor and Manny Escobar hosting and providing musical accompaniment. (6-8 pm) At Gallery X, the New Bedford Historical Society has curated a speaking program, I Am New Bedford Journeys, helping to build a public narrative that uplifts and celebrates the contributions of women and girls of color. (6-8 pm) Hear tales and personal anecdotes related to the New Bedford Scallop Festival, Blessing of the Fleet, Fishermen’s Memorial Service, and Working Waterfront Festival from the women who participated in the New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center’s ongoing Herstory Oral History Project!
