    Join Gallery X on Friday, September 25 for Cinema 169, a film screening series inspired by the visual art exhibitions on view at Gallery X. To coincide with the BETWEEN THE LINES exhibition we will be screening the wacky, musical comedy MUPPET TREASURE ISLAND, the quintessential adaption of the classic Robert Louis Stevenson novel! Reservations recommended, but not required. Doors at 6:30, the screening will begin at 7:00. This screening is open to the public, donations are recommended, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Refreshments will be available to purchase inside Gallery X. Synopsis: Robert Louis Stevenson's classic pirate tale takes on a life of its own in the hands of the hilarious Muppets.     After moving from Japan at 15, Kansei Yasuda attended UMass Dartmouth, where he first dreamed of becoming a stand-up comedian. Now he's returning to New Bedford for a special Homecoming Edition of his RESPECT!! Solo Comedy Tour. Step into the uniquely weird world of Kansei Yasuda. Known for his calm, slow-paced delivery, sharp humor, and deep dedication to ramen, Kansei blends awkward honesty with absurd observations. His punchlines sneak up on you like Pearl Harbor and hit like a kamikaze attack, leaving you with an “aw” like Hiroshima and Nagasaki. After earning a Golden Ticket on Kill Tony, he’s bringing his signature style to audiences across North America. Kansei will perform a 40–45 minute solo set, with a few of his hilarious comedian friends kicking off the night before he takes the stage.
